How does a Tennis-Orlando Season / League run?
The match format is highly flexible. We aim to group players by ZIP code to minimize travel distances. Each season lasts three months and consists of 8 to 10 regular-season matches. Every player will have one home match and one away match.
For home matches, you can choose any free outdoor court within your ZIP code, and your opponent will do the same. If you are unavailable or traveling during a particular week, you can schedule multiple matches in the weeks you are available. The key requirement is to complete all matches within the season’s timeframe so we can begin the playoffs on schedule.
Players will coordinate directly with their opponents to set up match times and locations that are most convenient for both teams.
Matches are played in a best-of-three format, and the winner must report the scores to the organizer. Scores will be posted on the website, where rankings will be updated throughout the season. These rankings will determine playoff seeding, and each division will crown a champion.
Divisions will be structured based on skill levels, depending on the number of participants. For example, we may have a 3.5–4.0 level for Mixed Doubles and a 3.0–3.5 level. To maintain competitiveness, the top 2–3 teams at the end of the season will move up a level, while the bottom 2–3 teams will move down.
